Internship Azure Cyber Security
The Cobase platform runs on Microsoft Azure. We have spent lots of effort automating the management of our Azure platform and cyber security is an extremely important aspect. Cobase plans to implement automatic and continuous validation of cyber security standards and compliance. Goal of your assignment is to investigate and advise how to setup Azure Policy in the most useful way for Cobase.
In the first part of your assignment you will study and get your Azure Fundamentals (AZ-900) certification as a generic introduction to Azure’s ecosystem so you will be well prepared. During your studies, we will get you acquainted with the Cobase environment so you can map the theory on the real world. Technologies used at Cobase include Azure Kubernetes Service, Azure DevOps, Terraform, Azure Software Defined Networking and Azure SQL as a managed Platform as a Service offering.
In the second part of your assignment you will assess if there are gaps between the recommendations and best practices as defined by Microsoft’s compliance offerings, and the current state of the Cobase infrastructure. In this phase, all standards set by Microsoft are assessed and the ones Cobase needs to be compliant with will be selected. You will also get the opportunity to get certified as an Azure Security Engineer Associate (AZ-500) to support your assignment.
In the third and final part of your assignment you will write a report with recommendations to close the identified gaps and further improve cyber security at Cobase. This includes the initial setup of Azure Policy, and implementing alerts to our Cloud Operations team when violations are found. During the assignment, you will get familiar with how Cobase runs its applications and the Azure services used, including all automation tooling around it. This is a great experience for the rest of your career.
This is a challenging assignment for a highly motivated student. You will be supported by our cloud architect during the entire internship.
