Cobase and Rabobank have announced a new partnership to make banking easier and more integrated for corporate clients. By combining Rabobank’s Premium APIs with Cobase’s treasury and bank connectivity platform, the two companies want to simplify financial processes and reduce daily complexity for businesses.
With this partnership, Cobase is expanding how clients connect to Rabobank. Instead of relying only on traditional methods like RDC and SFTP, clients can now use APIs for direct access to banking services. This means companies can manage payments, view account information, and track liquidity directly within the systems they already use, such as their ERP or treasury software.
The main goal of the partnership is clear: bring banking into the tools companies use every day. When financial services are embedded into existing workflows, businesses can work faster, reduce manual tasks, and have better visibility over their cash.
Frans van der Lugt of Rabobank explains:
“We see embedded banking as an important step in making financial services more useful and accessible. By working with Cobase, we can bring our services directly into the systems our clients already use. This helps them manage their banking in a simpler and more efficient way.”
Jack Gielen, COO at Cobase, adds:
“Our clients want flexibility and simplicity when connecting to banks. By adding Rabobank’s Premium APIs to our platform, we can offer exactly that. Together, we are creating a more connected experience that helps clients improve their daily operations and make better decisions.”
Cobase and Rabobank are not starting from scratch. Today, around 60 shared clients already use Cobase to manage their Rabobank accounts, with about 1.5 million transactions processed each year. Until now, connectivity has mainly been through a direct channel managed by Cobase, with implementations usually taking just a few weeks.
The partnership is now moving to the next stage. A formal agreement is in place, and Cobase has started working with Rabobank’s APIs. The first use cases focus on real-time balances and transaction data, with pilot projects starting soon.
Both companies plan to continue working closely together. They will explore new API-based solutions, including services for account information and verification. They also plan to share knowledge and develop new ideas over time.
With this partnership, Cobase and Rabobank are taking an important step in the move towards embedded banking. Their goal is simple: make banking a natural part of business processes, so companies can spend less time on manual work and more time on growth.
